Alpha is a 10 week practical presentation of the Christian faith open to everybody, though designed first for those who need a refresher course in their Faith or who are non-Christians. Each session begins with a simple meal followed by an introduction, a video and a discussion group in which any question can be asked. There is NO charge for Alpha.
What is Alpha
Alpha is made up of the following:
- A: Anyone is welcome at Alpha. The Alpha course is for everybody.
- L: Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Chrustian Faith and have lots of fun.
- P: Pasta. Sessions begin with a mean. We share friendship over a meal.
- H: Healping each other along the way in small groups.
- A: Ask anything. No question is too simple or too hostile. People can ask anything at all!
Who is Alpha for?
- Everyone! For you, whoever you are.
- Those who feel they need answers to their chindren's questions.
- Those who feel they have neverlearnt what being Christian is all about.
- Newcomers to our Parish.
- New parents at our school.
- Those who want to catch up on the basics
What's involved?
The evening Alpha begins at 7 pm with a two course dinner followed by the talk. After tea or coffee, we break into smaller groupsfor discussion of any issues/questions raised from the talk, finishing at 9:30 pm.
There is an oppurtunity to go on a weekend away. This is a key part of the course and a great way for people to get to know each other.
What will it cost?
There is no charge for Alpha. A small contribution is requested for the meal each session and for the food and accomodation during the weekend away.
When and where?
The next Alpha will run in term two:
- Day Alpha on Wednesdays at 12 noon
- Evening Alpha on Thursdays at 7 pm
The dinner pary is on Thursday 30th March at 7 pm.
The Alpha course starts on Wednesday 5th of April 2006
